Celebrating the NO Saints and offering relief to Haiti

On Friday, February 5, 2010, the students, faculty and staff of Breaux Bridge Junior High School wore New Orleans Saints spirit shirts to show their support for the team and to raise money for the Haiti Relief Fund.  Denise Frederick, principal, encouraged participation and lessons on the disaster in Haiti were taught throughout the school.  Reading teacher, Markenia Boutte, held a contest between each of her classes.  Her students accepted the challenge and donated a total of $409.55.  The total raised for the Haiti Relief Fund by Breaux Bridge Junior High was $706.55.  With only 256 students, this is magnificent job done by our students.  Funds raised were handed over to the United Way of Acadiana who will be sending all funds to Haiti.
