Two St. Martin Parish Schools receive 8G grants.
Congratulations to the following schools on receiving 8g Grants for the 2009-2010 School Year:

Breaux Bridge High School - "9th Grade Achieve Maximum Potential (AMP) TECH Reading Course" - $87,736

St. Martinville High School - " Rigorous Education Develops Excellent Students in Grade Nine" - $99,913

School and District Performance Scores Released
St. Martin Parish's district performance score for the 2007-2008 school year is 82.3, an increase of 2.8 points from the 2006-2007 school year. No schools were labeled academically unacceptable, all schools made annual yearly progress for the school performance score component, and all schools were labeled with at least a one star for performance. In addition, St. Martin Parish has two schools (St. Martinville Primary and Cecilia High School) eligible to receive K-12 Accountability Reward money from the Louisiana Department of Education for achieving a label of Exemplary Academic Growth or Recognized Academic Growth. This is a great accomplishment for all stakeholders at these schools.

Tiffany Dore named Breaux Bridge Crawfish Queen
Tiffany Dore' was recently selected among a group of local girls to represent Breaux Bridge and the Crawfish Festival as the 2009 Crawfish Queen. She is the 18 year old daughter of Dean and Marlene Dore' and she has one younger brother named Treg. She was a honor graduate of Breaux Bridge High School in 2008, where she was a member of the BETA Club. Tiffany is currently attending ULL and majoring in Dietetics. She is the first female to hold the three Crawfish Festival titles, as Lil' Miss Pincher in 1995, Jr. Crawfish Queen in 2001 and now holding the title of Crawfish Queen in 2009. She has been employed at the St. Martin Parish Instructional Center for 2 years, where she works in the Accounting Department.
